Updates:

1st Voyage

The Allons-Sea is one of three deployed in late November 2017 off  Barnegat Bay NJ trawlers.  The school delivered her to the dock with a live Facebook recording. She was deployed off the Delaware Shelf on Nov 25 off F/V Frances Anne.

Allons-sea, and have a great day!

Student Log #6: 2/4/18

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking. Allons-sea is still “lost at sea,” since we have not heard from it in a few weeks. We still have hope that our boat is safe and just continuing its journey through the ocean. This is only one bumpy part of our journey, and we will check in next week. Don’t forget to watch the Super Bowl, too!

Student Log #5: 1/28/18

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking. Allons-sea, unfortunately, is still not sending messages back to us, so we can only hope for the best. Sending our best wishes to you and our boat.
Allons-sea, and have a great day!

Student Log #4: 1/21/18

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking. Allons-sea is still in the same course, we assume, but we’re hoping it will reach land in the next few months. However, Allons-sea has stopped reporting through its GPS, so we hope to hear from our boat soon. We are still studying Allons-sea in class, and we hope to find more progress soon.

Student Log #3: 12/10/17

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking.  It appears that Allons-sea has finally hit the Gulf Stream!  We have beens sailing in loops and circles for a while, but it seems like we are on course north. Olive Oyl is near us now, while we hope for the best with the Black Pearl, which has returned to school for repair.  It does not appear that we have faced any large complications, so we will return next week with another update.

Student Log #2: 12/4/17

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking. We have some very exciting news to share. Our boat is currently heading south towards North Carolina, but that will soon change. In the next couple of days, the boat will start to head north. Allons-sea is making steady progress with hopefully favorable weather in the future. Allons-sea is currently the farthest along than any other boat from our school. We wish everyone luck and will be back next week with more information.

Student Log #1: 11/29/17

Hey, guys! It’s Hayley and your Captain Lindsey speaking. We are here to inform you about our boat’s latest activity. We are SO excited to share with you that our boat, Allons-sea, is finally on its voyage! We are also SO happy to tell you that we have hit, or almost hit, the Gulf Stream! We are hopefully on route to hit land in the next few months.

November 25, 2017

Allons-sea was deployed on November 25 by the F/V Frances Anne by Captain Rick Mear.

About the Allons-Sea and GMA – Update from the students

We are GMA, and we were recognized as a Blue Ribbon School twice. We came to Barnegat Light on 11/20, and launched our boat into the Delaware Shelf. We are hoping to be the first school to make a full round trip with our boat! Our name originates from the French, because we are the French class. Our boat names is supposed to mean, “Let’s go to the sea!” in French.
