1st Voyage
“Dear Cruiser fans,
We are the 5/6th grade class at Powers Elementary. We are very excited to announce that our class will be putting together a mini sailboat (like in the video above!)
In partnership with community members, staff, and the Oregon Coast STEM Hub we will launch the miniboat onto the Pacific Ocean! The boat will be equipped with sensors to track the currents, water temp, air temp, the boats location, and it will have a camera. We are happy to be privileged enough to make this boat as a class.
We are the media team reporting to you. We will be keeping you updated on our boat as we go through the process of preparing it.
Come with us on our journey and see how we are going to make the S.S. Cruisers!

Oregon Coast STEM Hub’s newsletter featured many “miniboat madness” summer updates, including one of Cruisers!
“Amy Thompson’s class at Powers Elementary school has created M/B Cruisers full of school pride. With just a bit more tweaking and a few layers of bottom paint needed, this miniboat should be on its way to sea in no time!”
