Passages: EP News December 2017

Letter from the Director:

Greetings! We have been busy here at Educational Passages (EP) and have a lot of news to share with everyone. Over the past year we have deployed over two dozen miniboats all around the world with many more ready to set sail. As the new Executive Director, I am excited to be a part of the EP team and look forward to collaborating with teachers, researchers and young scientists on our new oceanographic adventures. We can’t wait to see what 2018 brings, it will be an exciting year for all.

I would like to introduce team member Cassie Stymiest, Program Director.  She is using her positive energy and passion for ocean science to create innovative resources, including how to better access data. Cassie comes to us from NERACOOS, the Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal Ocean Observing Systems (I know that’s a mouth full) and we are lucky to have her!  She has taught me a lot about ocean currents in the last several months so I can only imagine how much she will contribute to EP in 2018. We will highlight other team members in future newsletters.

I’ll end with this: It’s 21 degrees F in Maine, Santa and his elves are busy.  I wish you all a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.

Be well and Drift on –

Erin
