Miniboat Mission Accomplished
What began as a high school marine biology class project in Florida, USA transformed into a two-year ocean exploration odyssey across the Atlantic. The vessel at the heart of this story is Sea Eagle, a student-built and GPS-tracked miniboat.
Launched in May 2023, as part of a learning initiative in ocean literacy, is now a 2025 marvel within a small sea-side community in Southern France.




Sea Eagle’s voyage is a powerful example of how experiential education — projects that are student-led, interdisciplinary, and extend beyond classroom walls — can lead to unexpected discoveries, both scientific and personal. What started as a simple school project is now an epic journey, weaving together themes of curiosity, durability, and connection.
